ere you can find the answers to a few questions you might have about our universe here at Moon Bound, if there's a question you have that you don't see, please feel free to use the form provided to ask and we'll add it to the list!
Q. Where is Thunder Cove?
A. Thunder Cove is a fictional town in the state of Washington. It is located in Grays Harbor County, and based loosely off the real town of Moclips, Washington with additions made by the staff to give players more things to do on the board.
Q. Are you accepting original werewolves?
A. Yes we are, however for each pack we're only allowing a certain number of OC wolves. For the packs we're allowing six OC wolves each, and we're allowing three lone wolves on the site. Please be sure to check with the admins to find out if there are any open slots for lone wolves.
Q. What is the difference between a lone wolf and a rogue wolf?
A. Lone wolves are wolves without a pack, they might have a mate but no pack. They're typically no threat to anyone unless they're looking to become alpha of a pack, and then they're only threats to alphas of the packs. Rogue wolves however are totally different. Rogue wolves are dangerous and unpredictable, they have had a taste of blood and have a thirst for it now. Not even their mates are safe from them. Most rogues are very volatile and are often put down before they can do any serious damage to the pack or any humans around.
Q. Can female werewolves be Alphas?
A. No, werewolves are very... archaic in their hierarchy systems. Female wolves can be dominant and strong, but not nearly enough to protect a pack nor defeat a male who might challenge them for rights to a pack. A female mate to an alpha can have as much power as her mate, but that is as far as her power in the pack will go.
Q. What are spirit warriors and are you allowing originals?
A. Spirit warriors are the children of the Native American myths such as Wolf, Bear, Raven, Coyote, Thunderbird, Fox, Eagle, ect. All of these characters have Native American features such as dark hair, skin, and eyes. We will not be accepting a blonde haired blue eyed spirit warrior. We are allowing only one child per myth. So if there isn't a canon with the myth parent you are interested in, please PM an admin and let us know and we'll happily let you play the part.
Q. Do they know that they're the children of the myths?
A. Some do, most don't. Most believe that they're just skinwalkers. The ones that do have either been told by a relative, or by the myth parent themselves.
Q. What sort of skinwalkers are you allowing on the site?
A. We are allowing avian, ursadaen, canine, feline, and reptilian skinwalkers. However please be sure to choose forms that are realistic and can survive in the environment that Moon Bound is set in and not cause attention to be drawn to them.
Q. What are the fae?
A. The term fae covers a lot of ground, and we're going to give you specifics on what we allow in the information sheet on them, but the fae are the fairy folk of most lore, though we're sticking closely to the Celtic lore on them.
Q. Can a vampire and werewolf mate?
A. We're going to say no on this. They're pretty much mortal enemies and the smell of a vampire is repulsive to a werewolf. They might attempt to be friendly in certain circumstances, or possibly date in extreme cases, but in the end it would dissolve for obvious reasons.
Q. Can there be hybrids?
A. The only 'hybrid' per say that we allow is a were to human pairing and producing an offspring. We might consider a werewolf to other species paring such as a skinwalker, spirit warrior, witch, or fae and mating but you must also consider that in nature that rarely happens, one species of skinwalker to another would be allowed since sometimes that does happen, but it is rare.
Q. Can humans know about the supernatural creatures on the board?
A. Depends on the circumstance really. Most of the humans know that there are supernatural creatures walking around now, but most prefer to be ignorant to it. Safer for them that way. However, humans that are tied to werewolves such as family or mates can know about them, and possibly other supernaturals, but not all do. A werewolf's family members may know about say skinwalkers but not vampires. A vampire's seethe members that they feed off of will obviously know about vampires but might not know about anything else.
Q. Can there be homosexual creatures on the board?
A. Yes, however we are only allowing two homosexual werewolves for the simple reason that they have a hard time being accepted into pack life. Vampire, fae, and human homosexuals would be easier and more accepted into their species society.
Q. What point of view should I write in?
A. Third person. Its easier and most people prefer to use that anyway, not to mention it keeps the board uniformed rather than have some posts in first and some in third. An example would be: "Katie pulled up in front of the store and turned off the car before she got out and went inside." Instead of in first person pov like this: "I pulled up in front of the store and turned off the car before I got out and went inside."
Q. How many characters can I have?
A. You may have as many characters as you want, I only have one request. To help even out the stats, if your first character is female, make your second a male. If you have four characters, let two be female, two male, ect, you get the picture. Also spread out what species you have. If you have a vampire, make your next a human, or werewolf. Also, please try not to take/make characters that will be in contact with each other quite a bit. Example: Payton Dallas and DJ Dallas.
Q. What happens after three warnings?
A. After three warnings you will be put on a temporary ban for a week. Once that week is up you will be allowed to post on the site, but you will be on a probation period. If in that period you break any of the rules or a member reports you, your account will be deleted and you will be put on a permanent ban.
Q. Do we have to wait until one thread is finished before starting/replying to another one, or can we post in several threads as long as they take place in different IC times?
A. You may be in multiple threads at once as long as you keep them in different IC times, not even the fae can be in two places at one time.
Q. What is the IC AIM?
A. It is a lovely idea that I wish I could say I came up with, but I borrowed with permission from the admin of a site that was on at one point. What it is, is REAL AIM screennames that we used to let our characters interact. It helps us create and move plots, develop our characters and their relationships as well as stimulate muse. Each character you create must have their own screenname to interact on, for instance, I play 2 characters, each of them has their own unique screen name. If you message one characters account, that character will reply, not one of the others. AIM is free and if you don’t want to download anything you can always use Meebo or aim express. This is not required, but we urge you to get your characters accounts, because it‘s a lot of fun, most of the characters have them and it is a easy way to have a quick ‘thread.’ Also, if the conversation is important or interesting please post it for others to see, just copy and paste the entire thing into a new thread in the IC AIM section, if it‘s got adult content please mark it like any other mature thread with some sort of rating such as M for mature.
Q. Is there a word count?
A. No, there is not a word count on the board, however we do ask that if someone spent an hour writing a 1000 word post that you take the time and courtesy to at least reply with something that at least halfway matches what they posted for you. No one likes spending a lot of time on a detailed post and only getting about one or two lines in reply. If we see this happening we will implement a minimum word count.
Got a question you want to add? Do so with the code below and it will be added and answered! Oh, please post your reply in code and remove the asterisks in the code. Thanks a bunch!
