Welcome to Moon Bound, an original supernatural RPG set in the fictional town of Thunder Cove, Washington.

Its early winter 2013, and the snow is already getting deep in the small coastal town of Thunder Cove. Things in this picturesque tourist town aren't exactly what they seem. Nothing in the world is what it seemed anymore, its as if the closer the world came to that fateful day on the Mayan calendar, the more the supernatural creatures of the world woke up and made their presence known. The fae are walking among us now, as are the old spirit guides and warriors of old Native American lore. The werewolf, vampire, and skinwalker populations have all taken a sudden rise, and the witches of old who had thought their powers lost to them have suddenly found themselves able to do magic again. The world hasn't ended, but its changing. Some say for the better, some say for the worst. In Thunder Cove, the population is split in half knowing that their town is a supernatural hot spot can make things difficult-- especially when the normal members of the population are part of the food chain.

Hello everyone. I'm going away until Tuesday for work, so I won't be able to post. I might get to a computer to post, but doubtful.

It was another dark night with the moon hiding behind a thicket of clouds. It shone through the holes of fluffily grey casting light on the sleepy town of Thunder Cove. Well, sleepy for some but not for one. The street lights were on down most of the roads in the heart of the town but at the outskirts they were beginning to dwindle. A dark figure ran along the sidewalk passing dark windows and closed shops. He looked frantic but not a single drop of sweat could be seen on his face. The dark figure was fast and never miss-stepped. Just as he reached the end of a road he dashed across and ducked behind a building. He made no sound, not even a breath as he looked around the corner back the way he came. The man turned down the alley in time to feel a long wooden arrow enter his chest. The man, now wide-eyed and long-toothed, stared down the alley to see another more slender man with glowering eyes holding a crossbow. The now obvious vampire pulled the arrow out and ran with lightning speed towards the forest's edge.

"Damnit, I missed," Kolchak cursed as he pulled the bow back.

Bolting after the vampire, Kolchak began to feel that familiar stitch in his side. It had been a year and he still wasn't used to his human body. However, he wouldn't stop until he found that stinking piece of living dead and staked it. The creature had fooled him into thinking it wasn't a vampire. So when Kolchak was heading home he made his way down an alley where it was feeding on some defenceless young woman. Kolchak had failed to see the signs and now someone was paying for it. The girl was drained dry before he could act. Now he had to set things right.

Kolchak ran, even with the stitch in his side, and caught a glimpse of the vampire head into Olympic National Forest. It was dark and Kolchak couldn't see a thing. Stumbling around his eyes managed to adjust to the darkness. He saw a clearing up ahead where the moonlight shown through just as the vampire passed through it. Kolchak ducked behind a tree for cover and kept an eye on the vampire's movements. It had stopped dead centre of the clearing. Now the obvious white glow of the vampire's skin was unmistakable in the moonlight. Kolchak prepped the crossbow with another arrow tipped with some wolfsbane and pulled a wooden stake from his coat. It was time to do the deed. He crouched and silently moved through the trees towards the clearing. Standing up he fired off the arrow and instantly ran without pause towards the vampire. Just as he made it to where the thing was standing it jumped into the overhanging trees. Everything went silent. Not a sound could be heard from the forest itself, for all the animals would have surely vacated in the presence of the living dead. Kolchak looked up to see the clouds circling around the moon like predators closing in on their prey.

"Cmon you coward. Let's finish this," Kolchak taunted. A few seconds passed what seemed like minutes and then the clearing went pitch black. The clouds had pounced. So did the vampire. Kolchak could feel the creature grab his crossbow and chuck it into the woods. As they grappled on the forest floor Kolchak could feel the arrow that he had fired before entering the clearing.

"Perfect," he said through clenched teeth. Grabbing the arrow Kolchak twisted it in the deadman's side. The vampire screeched in pain. The wolfsbane was taking effect. Unfortunately it seems the vampire wasn't in too much pain because he grabbed Kolchak by the neck and threw him against a tree. The stake rolled from his fingers. The moonlight shone down as Kolchak prepared for the vampire's last attack, but it never came. The vampire had run away to tend to it's infected wound. Kolchak lifted himself up shakily and spotted his crossbow. It was completely demolished.

"Damnit. That thing cost me a fortune..."

He picked up the stake and pocketed it as he made his way through the trees towards town. In this state he didn't even bother worrying about the vampire because he wouldn't put up much of a fight. Also, with wolfsbane in the deadman's system there wasn't much chance of being attacked anyways. Kolchak limped back through the trees blindly.
