Welcome to Moon Bound, an original supernatural RPG set in the fictional town of Thunder Cove, Washington.

Its early winter 2013, and the snow is already getting deep in the small coastal town of Thunder Cove. Things in this picturesque tourist town aren't exactly what they seem. Nothing in the world is what it seemed anymore, its as if the closer the world came to that fateful day on the Mayan calendar, the more the supernatural creatures of the world woke up and made their presence known. The fae are walking among us now, as are the old spirit guides and warriors of old Native American lore. The werewolf, vampire, and skinwalker populations have all taken a sudden rise, and the witches of old who had thought their powers lost to them have suddenly found themselves able to do magic again. The world hasn't ended, but its changing. Some say for the better, some say for the worst. In Thunder Cove, the population is split in half knowing that their town is a supernatural hot spot can make things difficult-- especially when the normal members of the population are part of the food chain.

She'd asked her dad if he'd come home and as far as the Alpha wolf knew, his son hadn't been home in at least a day or better. That made Payton's somewhat lighter mood dampen and she visibly let it show as her shoulders slumped and she disappeared back to her room. For a while she just sat in the big bay window looking out at Thunder River and the forest beyond and wondering where her big brother was. She felt herself torn in two, she loved her brother and she loved Brayden and it hurt how her brother seemed to reject the idea of she and Bray together. At the thought of Brayden, Payton looked over at her computer and the picture she'd taken recently of the two of them that was now her desktop. She wanted to see him, no she needed to see him.<p>

Without another moment's thought she grabbed her cell and her keys, telling her dad where she was going and that if AJ happened to bring his hot headed ass home (those words she used exactly) to Alpha command him to stay put if he had to, or sit on him until she got home. The command slash request had her father chuckling at his fiery tempered daughter who quickly darted in the room where he was reading and kissed her father on the cheek before smiling at him weakly. It was obvious how the way her brother was acting was affecting his daughter and Roland Dallas was determined to do anything in his power to make her smile totally again. He loved to see his little girl smile and knowing she was hurt because of her brother made a low rumble escape his throat. He would have a talking with that boy when he did get home that was for certain.<p>

Pay had caught the rumble escape her father's throat and felt her brows raise to disappear beneath long bangs. "Dad... you okay?" She asked, pausing at the door.

"I'm fine Princess. Go on and see Brayden." The older man assured her with a smile that made his eyes dance and the skin at the corners of his eyes crinkle. It was a sign that eased Payton as she nodded and gave her father one last smile before heading out and leaving Roland with his book and his thoughts.<p>

The drive up to Storm Beach and the house where Brayden lived... where she could live if she would accept his offers wasn't that long, but it seemed like it stretched forever with how down she was. Finally she was parked near the house and got out but she couldn't make herself walk up to the door just yet. She eyed it, knowing Bray would know she was there soon if he was home, but she couldn't go see him just yet. Tears were too close to the surface and so instead she turned towards the beach. She needed a moment or two to herself before she saw him.<p>

Pay shivered slightly, her thin carigan offered no protection from the cool ocean wind that whipped her hair around her face as she walked, her arms wrapped around her and keeping the thin gray cardigan pulled tight around her slender frame. For a while she walked as she let the hurt finally wash over her of the last few days that she'd kept bottled up. Quiet tears rolled down her tan and freckled cheeks as she finally found a large piece of driftwood off from the edge of the surf a bit and away from the house and eased down on it. She hoped that the wind wouldn't betray her for a while as she finally allowed herself to break. It wasn't often that the redhead fell apart, and when she did it was usually in private where no one could see her. Normally she was as strong as her brother and father-- at least emotionally and she had yet to allow herself time to really ache over her big brother's horrible reaction. How could it have gone so wrong? He should've been happy for her, for his best friend! Instead he was angry and Payton didn't understand why.<p>

For a while Payton sat there, numb to the cold and wind. Her mind was a blur of thoughts and emotions ranging from anger, to hurt, to confusion. Why had things taken such a turn south just when she thought she had everything finally falling into place? Pay didn't know how long she was out there as she let herself cry until she had no more tears for the moment and finally felt more a little like herself-- if only but a little. She still had to hold it together when she saw Brayden when she went to the house. That was if he was even there. Pay sighed as she looked out at the water, she would give herself a few more minutes though before she got up and went to see the man she loved and hoped he could help cheer her up.

Payton felt completely horrible over how the conversation with her brother had gone and had almost cancelled on today's shopping trip with Luna. However as much as she just wanted to hide from the world, Pay knew that if anyone would understand, it'd be Luna. Payton had remembered how her brother was with the other female when they had been younger and had remembered hearing about when she had left. Plus Pay just had this gut feeling that there was something going on between them. Not to mention things had been going well between the girls thus far, and while Pay had never had an older sister to talk to, she felt that Luna was filling that void. The day before with AJ had dampened Payton's mood so much that today during her martial arts class she had been off her game to the point one of the guys (the ass with a sexist streak) who was also trying for their brown belt got the better of Payton and cost her some bumps and bruises that luckily was the only thing she came out of the sparring session with thanks to their Sensei. Of course the weathered older man had pulled Pay aside to ask her what was getting under her skin, but she figured that it wouldn't be wise to admit that it was something as foolish as her brother's reaction to what the human world would just see as a boyfriend. So instead she had just put it off as family troubles and stress over school which luckily he had bought.<p>

The talk however managed to make Payton late for her outing with Luna and so she hastily took a shower once the guys were gone, changed, and towel dried and braided her damp hair before tossing her black fedora on to further hide the hair that she normally spent a good hour on to make it look great. She was by all rights for her borderline bumming it as she hurried to her Jeep and hopped in to meet Luna. She was already ten minutes late and hoped that the other girl was still waiting on her. If not she'd make it up to her by bringing food and movies over since she knew where she lived and they'd have a girls night. Hopefully anyway she thought as she wove her way through the streets of Olympia to the place where she was supposed to meet the other girl. Pay drummed her fingers on her steering wheel impatiently as she waited for a red light to turn green and let out a breath to calm herself. Ten minutes; while not too late, was not making Pay happy. Usually the redhead was early if anything so being late was just driving her nuts. All the what-ifs of if Luna had left or didn't come period were whirling through her mind. She had to calm down. Luna would be there. Ten minutes wasn't bad. Those were the thoughts she kept reminding herself with as she finally got to her destination and parked.<p>

Now that she was here, Pay was starting to calm down if only a little as she sprinted down the sidewalk to where she had told Luna to meet her and was glad she'd worn some of her more comfortable boots today or else she would've more than likely broken something (on top of being bruised and sore from class) on the run to meet up with Luna and try to make sure that she wasn't any more later than she already was. "Please still be there, please still be there..." Pay pleaded under her breath as she rounded the corner and saw who she thought was Luna standing up ahead. Immediately at the sight of the short brunette Pay let out a relieved breath and slowed her steps down. It wouldn't do to fall and break her ass on the home stretch; though wasn't there a saying that it was the home stretch where something happened anyway? Something like that, and Pay didn't want to be caught up in that myth. Her life revolved around enough myths, legends, and the supernatural, she didn't need to add to it by breaking her ass because of some stupid urban myth.<p>

Finally as she was only a few steps away from who she hoped was Luna she saw her turn slightly and Pay got a glimpse of her face and smiled. Thank god she was still here. "Hey Luna!" Pay called ahead to her and smiled, "I am so sorry for being late, class was rough and my Sensei wanted to talk to me after. I hope you haven't been waiting long." She explained with a gush of air and apologetic smile as she paused before hugging the other, not knowing if Luna would accept a hug or not. "How are you and would you care for a drink? I'm dying for something and they have these really great smoothies in there." She asked with a smile before nodding at the door of the coffee shop near them.</div>

Today was the day that she was going to tell her big brother that she was not only dating his best friend, but she was pretty much his mate. The only thing that was stopping the bond from being sealed was the fact that Bray hadn't declared it to the packs. Mostly because Pay wanted to tell her father and brother first and avoid a scene. She had a feeling that it would cause one if she didn't forewarn them, and so had asked him to hold off on that part. Of course there was the old fashioned way of doing it; which wasn't too bad of an idea and less public, but Pay wasn't about to go there... just yet anyway, with Bray. So she had the talk with her father first who surprisingly wasn't all that upset about it. Pay saw it in his eyes though that he was sad that his little girl was growing up and he had missed so much of her life, but he was happy for her. In fact that sly old fox (or more accurately wolf) had admitted he had seen it coming for a long time and was wondering when Brayden would finally corner her about it! That had been the biggest shock of all to Pay, that her father had seen this coming well before she had.<p>

That news had at least given her some courage before she finally got her brother to take some time to talk to her. At least until now. The day was overcast and gray. The sky was thick with heavy clouds that looked like they could drop buckets on the residents of Thunder Cove at any moment but she hoped that the rain would hold out at least until she talked to AJ. Pay had just come out of the little coffee shop near the harbor, a hot cup of her favorite flavored coffee wrapped up in one hand while the other held her brothers; and a big chocolate chip cookie in it as a means to sort of sugar coat the news she was going to drop on him. Pay hoped and prayed that her brother would take the news as well as her father did, though she knew two miracles was asking for a lot. Pay checked the time before leaning against the railing that overlooked the water and sighed. She had five minutes before AJ was supposed to get there, which meant she probably would be waiting for ten knowing him and if any of the work he was doing ran over. The time alone to herself though gave her the time she needed to think over what she was going to say to her brother. Well she knew what she was going to say but just how to word it right. There would be a lot of changes going on in the future because of what was going on between her and Brayden, and some she thought would be coming a little soon after her just returning home recently after so long of being away.<p>

Payton sighed, her breath coming out in a misty white puff before dissipating in the air in front of her. The weather was cool, and steadily cooling with the threat of rain and made her glad for the hot coffee in her hands. Pay stared blindly out at the water as her brain painted the different scenarios that could unfold once her brother got there. The best one was if he was accepting of her and his best friend, the worst was that he wouldn't be and would threaten to go break Brayden's neck-- no joking to it even. Pay groaned and let her head fall slightly, closing her eyes and praying silently that she could in fact get two miracles; that both her father and now brother would be okay with her being with Brayden. At least it was someone that they all knew, someone that they trusted. And someone that they knew would never hurt Payton. The bond between them was proof enough of that; even though Roland had run his wife off with his temper, Pay somehow knew Bray would never be like that with her. And that gave her hope that her brother would understand it and feel the same way. Pay could hope at least.<p>

Another nervous glance at her watch and she carefully balanced the cups of coffee on the weathered wooden rail before pulling out her phone and shooting a text to her big brother. She was anxious to get this over with and it was obvious by her fidgeting and the fact she was texting him.<p>

"Come on slowpoke, it looks like its about to rain out here. Where are you?"<p>

She typed in before hitting send and then putting the phone back safely in her coat pocket and wrapping her hands around the cups of hot coffee to make sure they didn't fall over and to keep her hands warm while she waited on her brother to finally get there. She had a lot to tell him and knew if she was kept waiting any longer her nerves were going to get the better of her and make her just blurt it out rather than talk it out with him. Which after the other morning's fiasco with her pajamas, she was pretty certain that the conversation today wasn't going to go as smoothly as she hoped it would.</div></div>

She'd been home for a month (give or take a week or two), and due to her busy schedule with school she had yet to make an appearance at the house of the other alpha in the small coastal town. She knew him, just as well as she knew her own brother, but she was almost afraid of what he would say to her once he saw her. Silly, she knew it, but Pay had grown to worry about others thought about her-- on occasion anyway. People that were important to her were the ones that mattered the most to her. She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel of her shiny new black Jeep Wrangler in time with Daughtry's song "Louder Than Ever", and if it were any other time she would've been bouncing in her seat and singing along with the song that reminded her so much of the song "Summer of 69". Today her nerves only allowed her fingers to move in time with the beat. She had a stop to make first before she reached Brayden's house and in no time she was at the small cemetery that belonged to both packs. It had been years since she'd been here and as she pulled over on the side of the small road, she parked the Wrangler and shivered at the cool air that greeted her once she got out.
<p>
She reached into the back of the Wrangler with a grace that most wolves had, that she had only acquired through years of martial arts training and produced a bouquet of white lilies and a single dark red rose. She quickly closed the door of the Jeep and made her way across the well cared for land until she was standing in front of two gravestones. The two people who had been like second parents to her lay here and it had been too long since she'd come to pay her respects to the parents of the man she was about to see. Without a word as memories of Owen and Kathleen O'Shae played in her mind she lay the lilies at the base of Kathleen's grave and the single rose at the base of Owens. The man had never been one for big signs of affection, so she felt that the one dark and large rose was something he would've appreciated from the girl who had been almost like a daughter to him, while she had remembered how much his wife had loved lilies and would love the ones she had left for her. With one final look at the graves as if to give herself some courage, Payton turned around and got back into her Wrangler, embracing the warmth of her heat against the cold wind coming off the northern Pacific Ocean. She sat there warming up her fingers and glancing at the smudges of pencil dust around her nails and shook her head before once more starting on the last leg of her journey across town.
<p>
At her request her brother had kept his big trap shut that Pay was home. She hadn't wanted Bray to feel bad (if he'd wanted to see her), that she hadn't come to see him right away. Jet lag and then school had sort of made that hard, and even her own father, brother, and housemates hadn't seen much of her thanks to her either unpacking, sleeping to get adjusted to the time difference, or else she was at school in Olympia. With a steadying breath she smiled, knowing exactly how she wanted to do this as she pulled up out in front of Bray's house. It was the same house she remembered as a child, the one that he and his father had built for his mother before she'd died. Out of nervous habit, Pay chewed on her bottom lip and slender fingers reached up to trace the crescent moon shaped scar that hooked around her left eye, debating on whether or not to do this or chicken out (which AJ would rag her for later if she did). Slowly though she gathered her courage, cracked the window of the Jeep closest to the house so that her sweet and unusual scent could drift on the wind for any wolf nearby to catch; one specifically if he was home, and pulled out her iPhone from her bag. Nervous fingers trembled as she pulled up his screen name and typed in the first thing she'd said to him in ages.
<p>
"Hey stranger, how's it going? If you're still living in that old house of yours, might wanna put your nose to the wind and take a look outside."
<p>
For a moment she sat there, looking up at the house and debating on sending it or not before seeing his frame pass in front of a window, and before she could chicken out, hit send and waited for what was to come next.</div>
